The key to extend the lifespan of bullet resistant glass consists on reaching the highest bonding among layers. Although the most evident difference lies in the selection of appropriate raw materials, most of the manufacturers are still using Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB) as a bonding material, even when its adherence is less than the one of Polyurethane (PU).
This is about assessment criteria. When comparing PU vs PVB our competitors prefer low cost of PVB and its varied offer of colors. Their marketing strategy consists on opening a wide range of possibilities.
On the other hand, we prefer to lessen complaints due to delamination by using PU as a sole bonding material in all our formulas. This decision led us to offer a more discrete color palette guaranteeing life-lasting transparency. Color is in the crystal in all our formulas.
